My heart is heavy this week for the families in Texas who lost loved ones in the Camp Mystic flood. The death toll is now over 100 souls lost, and almost 30 of them were children. It’s a painful reminder of “the frailty of life.” I’ve thought about, and prayed for, the parents and grandparents of those precious girls. Sending their daughters and granddaughters of to camp was no doubt an exciting time. I understand that this camp has been around a long time and parents, and even grandparents, of some of these children attended camp there when they were young. I think it’s safe to say that none of those parents imagined that dropping their child off at camp was the last time they would see their loved one alive. We just never think in those terms.more
