Dear Grace Family and Friends,
I participated in a conference call with other Pastors from the area and was surprised by several responses. It appears Grace Baptist isn’t the only Church in the area who has been blessed with faithful giving during the “pandemic.” Several noted how blessed they were that their people had continued to give in spite of being unable to assemble corporately. That’s certainly been the case here. Thru the same time period last year, you have given almost $5,000 more this year than last. That’s remarkable given the fact that we haven’t met corporately for 8 weeks. All I can say is, “Thank you for being the faithful and generous Church you are known to be.” Keep up the good work! What was even a bigger surprise, however, is how many Pastors were concerned their Church families didn’t really want to start meeting together again. I understand that it’s been much easier for some to simply enjoy “Church” from home. And others have a very real sense of angst about gathering for worship again because of existing health issues that leave them vulnerable to the virus. But I believe the majority of the saints of Grace Baptist are eager to gather with their Church family to not only worship our great God but also to enjoy sweet fellowship with their brothers and sisters in Christ. That’s as it should be. Fellowship was one of the four primary activities of the 1st century Church, according to Acts 2:42. And
fellowship implies “getting together.” I’m craving it! I so miss my Grace Baptist family. I can’t wait to see you all again. Even more, I am eager for handshakes and hugs! You all are precious to me and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Pray with me that we’ll be together soon. God has a plan. As we find it and do it we cannot fail. I love you all. God bless you!
