Young Married Class – Topical Study
» Wed 6:30pm • Rm. 109-110 • Dr. Jim Ford • No Cost

This is a weekly topical study geared for the young married couple. It is designed to address various issues that are important to today’s generation of young families and gives Biblical solutions to those issues. This is highly interactive class that points out practical answers to the challenges you face today and offers real hope for your future, right from the most authoritative book ever written on practical living: The Bible.

Starts Aug 14
» Tues 6:30pm

You don’t have to go through it alone.
Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.
DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life.
Our groups are led by people who’ve been through separation and divorce and understand exactly how you feel and are ready to help you find a path to happiness again. The program is 13 weeks long, and each week’s session is self-contained so if you do happen to miss a session you can simply attend the session you missed during the next cycle of the class. You’ll discover hope for the future. While things may look bleak now, you’ll learn ways to restore your hope and rebuild your life. Many DivorceCare alumni tell us that the program helped them move from adversity to becoming a better person.
Child care is available if requested ahead of time. Please call the church office at 706-868-9729 or email Greg Mason at gmason@gbce.net

The key word in Proverbs is Wisdom, or “The ability to live life skillfully.”  A godly life in an ungodly world, however, is no simple assignment.  Proverbs provides God’s detailed instructions for His people to deal skillfully with the practical affairs of everyday life: How to relate to God, parents, children, neighbors, and even government. Come and study these series of parables, poetry, short stories, and wise maxims to develop the common sense and divine perspective to deal with life’s issues.

The Sermon on the Mount
» Wed 6:30pm • Rm. 202 • Teresa Parton • No Cost

In one powerfully comprehensive yet compact message, the Lord sets forth the foundational truths of the gospel of the kingdom He came to proclaim. Though Jesus repeated many of these truths on other occasions, chapters 5–7 record one continuous message of the Lord, delivered at one specific time. As we will see, these were revolutionary truths to the minds of those Jewish religionists who heard them, and have continued to explode with great impact on the minds of readers for nearly two thousand years.

Men’s Class

A Study in the Book of James
» Wed 6:30pm • Rm. 201 • Mickey Reville • Cost $9

In this short and powerful book, the apostle James gives us practical guidance on issues that measure true and living faith.  Through an emphasis on spiritual fruitfulness, James calls all believers-then and now-to live a life that demonstrates genuine, saving faith marked by godly behavior.  A key leader in the Jerusalem church and oldest half-brother of Jesus, James wrote this epistle to Jewish believers who had been scattered by persecution.  Out of compassion, he confronted Christians to test the quality and consistency of their faith.  This MacArthur Study Guide Series provides a twelve week, verse-by-verse examination of the books of the New Testament.
